Dkbb is a Thai furniture brand aiming to deliver top-quality furniture for a reasonable price and provide the perfect solution for customer needs. Dkbb has increasingly been growing in the residential market from word of mouth among people. Dkbb has the vision that is continuously developing toward better production, innovation, or installation techniques. With 28-year of experience in the furniture industry, Dkbb advanced in both creative and functional design for each kind of room in each resident, whether it be kitchen and closet, where functionality is most necessary, an office, a living room, and a bathroom. Nowadays, people trust Dkbb to take care of room or even a whole house decoration, providing values to our customers.
1993 – 2010: The Beginning
Decor’s Choice company limited was established in the year 1993 in Udon Thani by two founders — Pongsatorn Teekatananon, who graduated in furniture design, and Jirakorn Jantarohit, experienced in furniture production from the export furniture factory where both of them had worked. Therefore, they came up with the idea of utilizing design and manufacturing knowledge to solve customer problems in home decoration; for example, carpenters bring materials and equipment to a customer’s house and work there for a long time. The work might have flaws. They might do damages to parts of the house, and finally, they retreat. Thus, we started as a small factory with merely five workers and using the same machinery and production systems as a large factory. We designed furniture which separated as parts for conveniently assembling onsite. As a result, the excellent feedback from and word of mouth from customers, who are satisfied with the work, are the main factor for our growth.
As Decor’s Choice company limited was founded in Udon Thani, where there are many foreigners, we have opportunities to work with foreign customers who long for European-style kitchen sets. With more experience in kitchen production, we expanded our services to nearby provinces, such as Nong Khai, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, etc. In the meantime, we got projects in Bangkok as well, which were recommended by Pongsatorn’s friends, who are architects and interior designers. The Bangkok market heard more about Dkbb high-quality, exquisite, and elegant works; then, we initiate an idea to open a showroom in Bangkok accordingly.
2010 – 2018: Our Further Step
At the same time, the company had developed a material to produce 100% waterproof and termite-proof furniture, which is called V.I. Plus. Water and termite are the customer pain point that we have been trying to fix for decades. Hence, we opened a showroom and launched an innovation for the first time at the Architect Expo in 2010 under the Dkbb brand. For 10-year, V.I. Plus had been tested in floods with the height of 1.80 meters for two months in 2011 and more tests several times in our customers’ houses. We confidently guarantee that Dkbb is the first brand in Thailand as a leader in the real waterproof and termite-proof kitchen. In addition to the kitchen, Dkbb also considers applying V.I. Plus materials to other home furniture.
2018 – Present: Changes
People still trust Dkbb to take care of decoration. However, the production is still using the same old industry technique, which is difficult for the company’s growth. Coincidentally, Pongsatorn’s son has graduated and came to work in the company allowing us to see blind spots and weaknesses, which technology can fix. We decided to start digital transformation by bringing in modern machines and software which are quick and precise, reducing workflow time and error. Therefore, our customers can obtain brilliant works with more quality, and variety of work according to the customers’ needs. Additionally, we deploy an R&D team seeking innovations to meet the functionality of furniture in a new house, whether it be IoT devices, sensors, or new fittings, to create a new standard again in the furniture industry.
